PG&E crews and its contractors are working to complete upgraded gas and electric distribution facilities on Scottsdale Road and Camelback Road north of Chilpancingo Parkway. This Phase II work involves construction of new gas distribution lines to replace the original lines installed in 1974, as well as new underground electric facilities to replace old direct buried cable. The work also includes placing new individual gas services to each residence in the neighborhood. These new gas and electric facilities will improve system safety and reliability to PG&E’s customers.
Phase I gas and electric construction was finished earlier this year on Chilpancingo Parkway and portions of Scottsdale Road and Camelback Road adjacent to Chilpancingo Parkway. The ongoing Phase II construction began in July 2017 and should be mostly complete by the end of the this year. Final street paving and concrete repairs are scheduled to be done early 2018.
PG&E will also be conducting video inspections of sewer lines as part of this project to ensure no underground facilities are impacted by the construction work. Residents may encounter temporary traffic controls and minor delays when driving through the work areas. Flaggers may be used to help direct traffic.
