EBMUD Pipe Infrastructure Repair Project
PCS Pipe Infrastructure Repair Project
The City of Pleasant Hill has issued an encroachment permit to EBMUD to perform work on the water mains on Pleasant Hill Road, Geary Road, and Barnett Terrace. EBMUD’s Pipeline Construction crews are scheduled to begin work during the week of June 18. The crews will be excavating and installing a new water main to replace and relocate a section of the existing water main. The new water main will improve water service within your neighborhood.

Pipeline work begins at one end of the job and advances to the other end of the job. Water mains are replaced from intersection to intersection. After the main installation is complete, the crew will transfer water services, fire hydrants and make final connections. Equipment and materials will be parked on site.

Residents should expect delays of up to 10 minutes when entering and leaving the area due to the main installation.

Work hours will be 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with traffic control provided at the site.

Brief interruptions in water service are expected when the connections are made to the existing water main and when individual services are transferred. In either case, you will be notified the previous day for all planned outages. Every attempt will be made to personally notify you of water disruptions; however, notification by door hangers may be necessary. Should you have the need for temporary service; the district will make every effort to provide assistance.

Every effort will be made to schedule the district’s paving crews to complete street repairs as soon as possible after pipeline work is completed. Questions about final paving can be addressed to Assistant Construction and Maintenance Superintendent Dave Gonzalez at (510) 287-0862.

Should you have any questions about the pipeline job, please call Assistant Construction and Maintenance Superintendent, Kevin Hatch at (510) 287-0823.
