City Temporarily Allows “Temporary Portable, Freestanding Signs” Located on Private Property for Commercial Businesses
The City of Pleasant Hill City Council recently allowed temporary portable freestanding signs on private property until January 1, 2011 to acknowledge the current downtown in the economy and provide assistance to local businesses during these tough times.
As part of this allowance, the City Council allowed these temporary signs in Neighborhood Business and Retail Business zoning districts, Downtown Pleasant Hill and within the Contra Costa Center Specific Plan area (generally located in the southwest corner of the intersection of Buskirk Avenue and Monument Boulevard). The City Council allowed these types of signs subject to certain provisions including, but not limited to, location, spacing, appearance and duration.
An application to have these types of signs must be reviewed and approved by the City (Planning Division) prior to installation. An application form, guidelines, and compliance agreement must be completed and entered into as part of the process. A PDF copy of the entire packet, including guidelines, application form and compliance agreement is available for download and view HERE. Please contact the Planning Division at 925-671-5209 for further information or questions.
