In February 2008, the City Council formally adopted City-Wide Design Guidelines that is applicable throughout the City. The guidelines are intended to inspire thoughtful interpretation and response to design opportunities, while promoting and reinforcing the physical image of the City of Pleasant Hill.  The guidelines are intended to encourage quality, well-designed development throughout the City.  The guidelines are separated into two volumes (residential and non-residential) and can be viewed through the links below:

In 2010, the City adopted new Downtown Pleasant Hill Tenant Design Guidelines and an updated Master Sign Program.  All future tenants of the Downtown area should review the design guidelines and any existing tenants of Downtown contemplating exterior or sign modifications should also review the design guidelines prior to completion of plans for submittal to the City.
