Notice is given that the City of Pleasant Hill Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider a recommendation to the City Council for a proposed zoning ordinance amendment for new and updated Cannabis provisions, including amendments to Section 18.50.140 (Cultivation of Marijuana & Medical Marijuana Dispensaries), Chapter 18.15 (Use Classifications), Chapter 18.140 (Definitions), Chapter 18.20 (Residential Districts), Chapter 18.25 (Commercial, Retail Business, Neighborhood Business, Office and Light Industrial Districts) and other conforming modifications to the Zoning Ordinance.
The proposed ordinance amendment is intended to ensure compliance with recent changes made to State laws through Proposition 64 (the Control, Regulate, and Tax Adult Use of Marijuana Act (“AUMA” or “the Act” passed by the voters at the statewide general election on November 8, 2016) and Senate Bill 94 (which reconciled the standards for medical cannabis businesses with the standards for adult-use cannabis businesses under a single law, entitled the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA)).
The Planning Commission will held a public hearing at their February 26, 2019 meeting date. The item was discussed and continued to April 9, 2019 for further action. Thus, the continued public hearing will be starting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, in the City Council Chambers, 100 Gregory Lane, Pleasant Hill. Interested persons will be heard at that time.
