The City has allocated a limited amount of funding for this program. Applications will be accepted and evaluated on a "first come-first served basis" until the full amount allocated has been disbursed. The minimum award amount is $500 and the maximum is $2,500.
In general, to be considered for funding projects or programs must promote or implement one or more of the following four criteria:1. Waste reduction in general by promoting less consumption, using less packaging and by employing other methods to divert waste from landfill.2. Reuse of products, materials and consumable items.3. Recycling at home, schools or businesses.4. Composting at home, schools or businesses.In addition to the above criteria, the organization applying for funding :• Must be located in Pleasant Hill or the activity for which the request is being made must occur in Pleasant Hill and must directly benefit the Pleasant Hill community;• Must be nonprofit and provide proof of nonprofit status; and • Must acknowledge the project was funded by the City of Pleasant Hill and where possible promote the www.PleasantHillRecycles.org website and the City recycling program.To apply for a grant or receive more information on this program please contact Martin Nelis at mnelis@ci.pleasant-hill.ca.us or call 925-671-5229.
